The 36th annual Blues Music Awards in Memphis, Tennessee

Karen Focht May 8, 2015

The 36th annual Blues Music Awards were held in Memphis, at the Cook Convention Center on Thursday night. The sold-out ceremony, took place at downtown’s Cook Convention Center.  It was such a treat to hear Stax artist Carla Thomas sing. In these pictures: Keb’ Mo’ who won for contemporary blues album.  Atlanta bluesman 83 year-old Tommy Brown who was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame. My personal favorite Charlie Musselwhite who said he was glad to be home, seeing all his old friends (we love for you to come home Charlie). Charlie won best harmonica player. The always-entertaining Bobby Rush won the B.B. King Entertainer award. The grand opening of the Blues Hall of Fame is today on south Main street in downtown Memphis.
