This was the first game that the Memphis Tigers played since their teammate and the number one recruit in the country, James Wiseman, announced that he was withdrawing from the University of Memphis and that he would no longer be playing for the Tigers. Wiseman said he was going to be preparing for the NBA draft in 2020.
